boards are asked to exercise due diligence using lag indicators that describe last quarter. the industry talks about leading indicators constantly but rarely tests whether its favourites actually lead.
what we're doing
- catalogue indicators in real use across industries
- test them against incident and near-miss history
- publish the method, not just the conclusions
where it's at
early work suggests a small set of signals does most of the predictive work. we are still testing which, and where that holds.
